We provide an efficient service to individuals, companies and institutions. Global has competitive rates on all foreign exchange and will deliver the foreign exchange to your offices.

OMNIBUS ALLOWANCES

Companies that travel extensively throughout the year may find that the normal travel allowances are not sufficient for their travel requirements. Those companies that require more than R160 000.00 per person may apply for an omnibus allowance in the name of the company up to an amount of R2 000 000.00 on provision of the following information on a company letterhead and a reasonable motivation is required, and it is entirely at Global Foreign Exchange Excon Departments discretion to approve or reject any application.

Information Required by Global Foreign Exchange:
• Names of travellers and their designation within the company
• The number of proposed trips per person
• The countries to be visited
• The amount per person per year within the omnibus allowance
• A brief motivation illustrating the reasons why the company requires the additional funds.

Global Foreign Exchange will keep a schedule of all funds taken and sold back, this will be submitted at the end of each year. Should the company require more than R2 000 000 a formal application is made to the Reserve Bank.

How long to allow
This is a timeous and detailed process, and should be done during the latter half of the year prior to travel.

ADDITIONAL ALLOWANCES

Applications to the Reserve Bank for additional allowances may be made, should your current allocations be insufficient. The application does, however, require reasonable motivation, and it is entirely at the Reserve Banks' discretion to approve or reject any application. Sufficient time for approval prior to departure should be allowed for each application. In case of an emergency applications can be processed urgently at an additional cost.

Annual Travel Allowances (Overseas and Neighbouring Territories)
• Adults: R160 000.00 per calender year
• Children under 12: R50 000 per calendar year

Please Take Note
The additional allowances are to cover both holiday and business travel. There is no longer a distinction between the two. The additional allowances are valid from 01 January to 31 December each year.
